Katakai Festival 4

The fireworks display, the final and the main event of Katakai Festival, began at 7:30 pm. Our reserved seat was an enclosed space, which is called 'Masu-seki', set along a gentle slope on the foot of a small hill beside the Asahara Shrine. All the seats had been full with a lot of people when the start time of the display came.

The shells got launched one after another in the night sky with a big stereo sound after the names of the dedicators and their wishes were announced. I felt the point of the launch was not so far from us. It was the first time that I saw the fireworks that close. Everyone seemed enjoying the colorful giant wheels and the dynamic sound of explosion. If you want to feel it better, please try to lie down on the ground. You will be sure to feel that the fireworks are being displayed only for yourself.
